Ring Attire: Soul looks a bit out of place in the ring, wearing a black t-shirt emblazoned with whichever hard rock/heavy metal band he is feeling at the time. He also wears a pair of dark, loose fitting (but not hanging off his ass) blue jeans. For footwear, he wear black wrestling boots with “Soul” in white letters written along the sides. Not typical wrestling attire, but he likes to be comfortable in the ring.
Entrance Attire: To the ring, he wears a black sleeveless hooded robe (think Assassin’s Creed but black instead of white) over his normal outfit.
Outside Attire: When backstage, Soul wears business casual clothes. Not shabby, but nothing that would suggest the personal success he has achieved in the corporate world. He does on occasion wear tailored business suits, but only for important meetings.
Biography: Straight out of Boston University, Michael Johnson started a successful sports agency with his girlfriend and soon-wife Jodi. While working with a few clients in the professional wrestling business, he tried his luck in a few sparring sessions. Impressed by his natural talent, his clients urged him to train full-time for the sport. Michael put himself through a prestigious wrestling school, adopted the persona of Soul Shadow, and joined the Cyber Wrestling Federation. His clients were right about his skills as he quickly achieved success, capturing gold in both the CWF and its successor, the National Wrestling Council.
Sadly, tragedy struck Soul’s life as his beloved wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He stepped away from his wrestling career to devote more time to his family, caring for Jodi in her final days and raising their young son Hunter. However, he continued to train if only as a way to keep physically fit and occasionally relieve stress.
When Hunter turned eleven, Michael took him to local wrestling show. Watching the action, he felt an old hunger return, one that a decade-plus away from the ring failed to diminish. He wanted to see if he could still succeed in the ring. With Hunter older and more independent, Michael realized he had an opportunity in front of him to find out. He called Master Class Championship Wrestling and soon entered contract talks…
Entrance Description: When the opening of the song hits, Soul walks slowly from behind the curtain, standing at the top of the ramp as he surveys the crowd. Though still hidden in shadows, his silhouette reveals his impressive physique. Once the lyrics start, Soul walks deliberately to the ring. The cloak’s cowl obscures his face, but few in the audience notice as their eyes are drawn to his battle-scarred arms. In time with the bridge, the wrestler leaps onto the ring apron, pulling himself onto the second turnbuckle in one smooth motion. Looking at the crowd, he flips the cowl back just as the chorus begins. For a moment he scans the arena, soaking in the crowd’s adulation. Finally, he jumps over the top rope and into the ring, flipping his cloak to the attendants. The music cuts out as Soul bounces off the ring ropes, giving them a quick test as he awaits the start of the match.
RP Style Preference: Roleplay is my preferred choice, though both script and match style intrigue me.
